The NBA season has been suspended for a month now and the league is itching to get back asap.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the NBA is putting together a 25-day “back to basketball” plan. The plan involves 11 days of individual workouts, followed by 14-day training camps for each team.
The NBA’s plan would mean this could happen sometime in the middle of May. If the NBA can resume activities at the beginning of June, they wouldn’t actually play games until July, potentially.
The NBA still doesn’t know exactly when the season will resume and players have been left to find their own ways to practice and keep in shape during the coronavirus pandemic.
The future of live sports in this country is extremely blurry right now. The NBA was the first American sports league to shut everything down. Right now, they clearly want to be the first organization to reopen as soon as possible.
