Over Easter weekend, Lifetime launched their new biopic The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel. The series trended across Twitter and is now known as Lifetime’s biggest movie in four years.

According to Shadow and Act, the Clark Sisters biopic pulled in 2.7 million viewers on Saturday night. The film was also the best ad-supported cable original movie since 2018 in its key demos and the biggest original movie in 2020 on television for key demos. The film also brought in over 700,000 interactions on social media.

The film was executive produced by Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliott. It told the story of the highest-selling female gospel group in history and their mother, Mattie Moss Clark. The is composed of Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Jacky Clark-Chisholm, Denise “Niecy” Clark Bradford and Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark-Terrell.
