While major states like Illinois, California, and others announce that “stay home” orders will continue through July, Gov. DeSantis believes his state can serve as a “temporary home” for teams from those states. The Florida Governor confirmed that he has been in talks with league officials from several sports regarding his plan and how it could potentially work.

Gov. DeSantis doubled down on his claim. Stating, “If you have a team in a league in an area that just won’t operate, we will find a place for them here in Florida,” The Governor claims residents of Florida support his idea and potential plan saying, “Our people are starved to have some of this back in our lives.” Adding,  “I think we can certainly do it in a way that’s safe.”

Either way, DeSantis seems set on his goals and is open to housing any team that needs or wants a temporary home.
