When songwriters unite, something special is bound to happen. Between the areas of Atlanta, Georgia and New Orleans, Louisiana, one may find a commonality between the two cities. Music and cultural history run deep in the dirty south so it does not come as a surprise when hip hop mirrors the greatness associated with ATL and the 504.

The south has always been known for lyrical realism and the drum. The beat and the catchy chorus accompanied by urban storytelling gives one a glimpse of what it is like growing up down in the dirty. As hip hop globalizes and continues to be a world music genre, New Orleans artist and songwriter Devious transcends state lines and enlists the musical gifts of decorated producer and songwriter Tasha Catour.

Catour signed a deal with Future before she advanced and created her independent publishing companies. The Grammy award winner, from her works with Lecrae, has created dope production and hooks for Future, Tinashe, Trina, Ca$h Out, Keke Palmer and more.

Devious, a three time Ascap award nominee, found out about Catour through his Atlanta colleagues Twan Da God and Chevy Revies (STATES). “I enjoy working with my brother Chevy from the Sipp and Twan makes music for me. It’s always bangin’. When I heard Tasha Catour on Solo Lucci “Cash Money”, I knew she was special, ” said Devious.
As a result, listeners will be able to enjoy what they have created. Devious also continues to work with another great songwriter who shocked the world with ”Halfway”. His name is S-8ighty. Universal Republic signed S-8ighty after his single blew up in New Orleans. Lil Wayne appeared on the remix.

Since then, Devious and S-8ighty have been consistently working. Now Catour joins the party on “Beautiful Soul Remix” featuring S-8ighty and “Complete Me Remix” featuring Paije Rush which will be released June 12th.

Devious applauds Tasha Catour’s work ethic and said she is a great creative who intimately produces records. “She’s truly a one woman band. She can write, sing, produce, and engineer. It was easy to let her do her thing.”
Devious echoes similar sentiments about S-8ighty. “He’s a genius also. He’s very passionate about being creative and making people feel good with his music. I’m happy I was able to collaborate with 8ighty and Catour. It’s a powerful energy when you work with people who are sincere, down to earth, and super positive.”

Adding even more flavor to the gumbo is the fact Catour holds her own as a female producer. She’s the first female producer Devious has collaborated with. Devious said it is all about making good music with great songwriters. He added by pointing out his only intent is to create personal connection through his music. We know there will be more collaborations in the near future.
