We are in the midst of arguably the biggest social and political moment of civil unrest in U.S. history, and people of all nationalities are speaking up for the justice and human rights of African Americans. Our vibrant culture, blood, sweat and tears have literally built this country, and music has been the soundtrack of our lives and our uprising. There is no better time than now to emphasize the role that black music has played in our country’s history.
To celebrate Black Music Month (June) and continue to honor the impact that black music has on our lives, TV One has produced an educational and entertaining original documentary, The Beat Don’t Stop, which is set to air on TV ONE on June 21 at 8PM ET/7C with an encore presentation at 10PM ET/9C.
