Eight-year-old Blue Ivy Carter has received her first BET Award nomination for appearing on Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl,” which also featured WizKid and SAINt JHN. The BET HER award recognizes the neo-soul mix with R&B artists. The track was featured on The Lion King: The Gift album.
Other nominees alongside are Alicia Keys “Underdog,” Ciara featuring Lupita Nyong’, Ester Dean, City Girls & La La “Melanin,” Layton Greene “I Choose,” Lizzo ft. Missy Elliott “Tempo” and Rhapsody ft. PJ Morton “Afeni.” Beyonce is also nominated with three other awards that are Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Album of the Year, and Best Movie for Homecoming: The Live Album.
The award show will take place on Sunday, June 28 at 8:00 pm EST on VIACOM stations but specifically BET Networks.
