It wasn’t long ago, that Kanye West announced his decision to run as a candidate for the 2020 Presidential campaign. Shortly after his announcement, rapper 2 Chainz took to his Instagram to show his support for Kanye. So much so, that he endorsed West’s campaign.
Many fans suspect this to be a publicity ploy, for a possible upcoming album. While West seems to be completely serious as he penned on his Twiter, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”
Celebrities like 2 Chainz, Kim Kardashian West, and Elon Musk have shown their support for Yeezy’s run, by endorsing the rapper. On the other hand, many celebrities are against putting Yeezy in the White House.
“This is a dangerous game he’s playing,” says former NBA star, Matt Barnes. “If this is serious, he will definitely divide the minority vote!! Just remember comments like ‘slavery was a choice’ and how buddy buddy he is w trump! Much respect for the artist & his impact on fashion but this is a HUGE F*CK NO 4 PRESIDENT,” he continued.
Fans may not have anything to worry about after all, according to Business Insider, West has already missed the deadline to register as an independent candidate in six states.
