Patrick Mahomes shattered NFL contract records on Monday landing an unheard of $503 million extension with the Kansas City Chiefs. The 2019 Super Bowl MVP is locked in with the Chiefs for the next 12 years.
In his 2 years as a starting NFL Quarterback, the 24-year-old Mahomes has won a regular season MVP, a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP so it was expected that Mahomes would get an Earth shattering contract this offseason. Mahomes half a billion dollar deal includes $140 million in guaranteed money according to ESPN.
ESPN reported that Mahomes contract is the biggest not just in the NFL but across professional sports. Los Angeles Angels Center feidler Mike Trout held the record since March of last year when he signed a fully guaranteed 12-year $426.5 million deal.
