LaMelo Ball is going to be a top-four pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. If he had his way, he already knows where he would like to play ball.
According to Ian Begley of SNY, multiple teams studying Ball believe that he and his inner circle would prefer that the highly-touted guard land with the New York Knicks in the NBA Draft. According to Begley, the feeling is mutual with the Knicks.
Out of the three Ball brothers, many believe LaMelo has the best upside.
The potential for stardom, especially in today’s game, is there. Ball is a 6’7″ guard with impressive handles and elite court vision, which combine to make him dangerous initiating the pick-and-roll.
The Knicks have a 37.2% chance of landing a top-four pick, where they have a shot at selecting Ball. They also have a 50.4% chance of selecting seventh or eighth, when he is likely off the board.
The Knicks are in the middle of a total rebuild. Having a cornerstone point guard like Ball and pairing him up with RJ Barrett is the start of something good in New York.
The Knicks want Ball and Ball wants New York. Let’s see if both parties get their wish in October.
