Denzel Washington and Julie Roberts are set to star in the Netflix film Leave the World Behind. The new film is a drama that is based on a forthcoming novel by Rumaan Alam, Variety reports.
The film is set to be directed by Sam Esmail, who has helmed Mr. Robot and Homecoming. The story chronicles two families who are stuck together on a weekend that has gone wrong. Roberts will be the mother of a family that rents a home, while Washington will serve as the homeowner.
The film will be a reunion for Washington and Roberts who appeared onscreen together in the 1993 film The Pelican Brief. Washington will also bring Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom to Netflix in producer roles.

The Leave the World Behind book will be published by Ecco this October.
