The past few years has given the world a chance to catch up on the Brooklyn Drill sound. The genre has birth a number of rappers, who look to tell stories behind UK production.

“I feel like we changed the game with drill after Chicago started it. We added a different kind of wave to it,” said the Structure Gang leader.

While Bizzy keenly identifies with the BK sound throughout GMTO Vol. 1, he makes sure that the project isn’t confined to it. With songs like “Beautiful,” and “Hold On,” he reminds listeners that his artistry caters to more than one audience. The project’s success has landed Banks on the Billboard Heatseeker chart as well as Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25.

According to Banks, he is proud of the reception and support he has gotten with his latest release. On the other hand, he has little room to celebrate due to the current pandemic.

“I didn’t really get to feel all the love yet,” he says. “Like I see it, but I haven’t been able to be around it.”

For now the intangible support comes from streams, views and comments under IG posts. When the opportunity comes for that to change, there is no ceiling for Bizzy Banks. The sky is the limit for the Brooklyn native.
