Dallas, TX based multimedia content creator and budding mogul, Meka Jackson, celebrates his birthday with the official music video for ” Brenda’s Babies.” Shot by Jeff Adair, the visual is loosely based around the 90’s music tale of “Brenda’s Got A Baby” by the late, great Tupac Shakur. Meka Jackson continues the story telling from the perspective of this current generation. The song and visuals attempts to chronicle the generational curses that occur within the Black community and show how history continues to repeat itself, in turn still plaguing the youth of today.

Known for challenging the status quo with his music videos, Meka Jackson closely examines the normalization and glamorization of drug addiction, violence, crime and gang culture we see today as a result of absentee parents in the Black community. “It’s been drugged out, thugged out, slugged out, young n*ggas going f*cking crazy,” Meka raps in the song.
