In the middle of 2020, tragedy struck his family, as he lost his mother to the deadly virusCOVID-19. His mom a major patriarch of his family, influenced his musical career as well, as she was the one to introduce him to The Source magazine, by purchasing his first issue when he was 14 years old when they lived overseas in Italy. Lionel B believes becoming a celebrity YouTuber was definitely a grind! When he first got started on YouTube, he was a single dad with full custody of his son and they were homeless. His ex-girlfriend put him out on the streets after she cheated on him with multiple guys. The blessing came in when he got inspired to start creating content on YouTube, he saw other bloggers posting stories, but he felt and knew that he could do it much better. His Ex wasn’t supportive at all, but he kept going, consistently uploading and adding his spin and creativity to it. Lionel used free Wi-Fi wherever he could, and that hard work definitely paid off because his first viral video changed his and his family’s life.
Since then he accumulated almost 100 million views in under two years on his YouTube channel. Making his reintroduction into the world of hip hop, he shocked industry execs and fans with his musical talent. He shines on his single “Verbal Murda” as he relentlessly drops bar after bar showing that he can do this for real. Shawty Go Low is blowing up all over the Internet, with TikTokers chiming in to join his challenge. Lionel B transitioned smoothly from a YouTube star to a rap artist and since then has evolved his YouTube presence, he still has his core audience and loyal fans on the Lionel B Show, they like what they like. Most of his new fans on the music tip are recently discovering him. The Youtube star is trying his best to separate his music from his rapidly growing Youtube Chanel. The Lionel B Show is a different lane, and his music is another, but it’s still all him.
