Keyshia Cole offered an explanation for her behavior, claiming that she was upset about the technical difficulties, and revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the battle.

Ashanti’s previous positive coronavirus diagnosis was the reason why the battle was postponed the first time, but nevertheless the singers experienced the Verzuz effect.

Ashanti previewed her latest musical effort, “235 (2:35 I Want You)” during the battle and it performed well, garnering 536,000 U.S. streams in its first two days.
