Kaavia James effortlessly became an influencer ever since blessing the world with her presence. She has developed the moniker, “shady baby” for her no-mess attitude displayed on social media and now her superstar parents, Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade are trying to monetize from it.

The book is scheduled to be released on May 18th.
âThis is our first childrenâs book we did together and weâre so excited for the world to read âShady Baby,â the couple tells PEOPLE in an exclusive joint statement. âInspired by our daughter, Kaavia James, we wanted to create a childrenâs book that not only had a little Black girl as the main character but that also reflects the global community we live in.â
Shady Baby, inspired by Kaavia James, is a story about a young girl who confronts some bullies at the park. The proud parents are hoping to change the connotation around the word “shady.”
âWe hope to give the word âshadyâ a more positive association and use it to represent oneâs moral compass to do the right thing and stand up for themselves and others,â they tell People. âItâs important that little Black girls and boys get to see themselves in these fairy tales and for children of other races to see us in leadership roles.â
