ABC News has confirmed that former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson was found dead in a hotel room in Brandon, Florida this earlier today(February 15). Jackson was 38 years old.
Hotel staff says that Jackson checked into the hotel on January 11 and stayed there until his death. Jackson’s family reported him missing on February 10, but the missing person report was dissolved on February 11 after police spoke with the former Buccaneer and confirmed that he was ok. A housekeeper found the former football player dead this morning at 11:30 am.
Jackson spent seven seasons with the San Diego Chargers after being a second-round pick in 2005. He made two Pro Bowls with the Chargers and he went on to sign a five-year deal with the Buccaneers in 2012. He finished the 2016 season on injured reserve and officially retired from the NFL in 2018.
