A recent report from Deadline has confirmed that Jay-Z’s Roc nation will e teaming up with actor Michael B. Jordan to produce a television series about the life and legacy of boxing icon Muhammad Ali.
Jordanās Outlier Society production company and Jay-Zās Roc Nation for Amazon Studios are executive producing the first feature production for the Outlier Society. Additionally, it is being reported that Ali’s estate will be involved with the Josh Wakely-written project.
āItās an incredible honor and I bring tons of respect to it,ā Jordan said in a statement about being involved in another boxing-related production. āItās a healthy weight to carry, to be able to tell the story of Muhammad Ali. Itās a project where weāve partnered with the estate and weāll be able to tell this story with no red tape. Iām really excited about it, as a boxing enthusiast and since this is the world Iāve been living in the past five or six years with the Creed franchise. To be able to honor Muhammad Ali and elaborate on his legacy is something Iām really excited about.ā
The series’ production comes on the heels of the release of Regina Kingās film One Night in Miami, which documents a fictional conversation between Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Jim Brown and Sam Cooke as the men met in a hotel to celebrate Aliās win against Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964.
