On the Juan Ep Is Dead Podcast, M1 and Stic spoke in detail with Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg about the creation of their classic “Hip Hop”, their album “Let’s Get Free” and told an incredible story about their relationship with the late great Nipsey Hussle and how he wanted to do an album that was essentially a redo of the Dead Prez “Let’s Get Free” .
“It hit me hard man, the day he got shot, I had just landed in Cali for a boxing film I was a part of,” said M1. “As soon as I landed, it was blowing up on the phone. Where Nip was going with it man, is definitely in a lot of ways, tribally speaking, we were in the same space.”
