Nike is inspiring and making it possible for consumers to assist in the celebration in a new film “We Play Real.” The social campaign elevates Black women’s voices and includes a pitch campaign with community partner Black Girl Ventures.

Nike will continue to deliver inspiring, empowering, and motivating stories, content, and experiences that demonstrate how the power of sport can help move the world forward throughout 2021.

The new “We Play Real” film is narrated by Dominique Fishback and celebrates Black women and their resilience and fortitude to impact the world. Athletes that appear in the film include Serena Williams, A’ja Wilson, Naomi Osaka, Seimon Augustus, Simone Manuel, Sheryl Swoopes, Diamond DeShields, and more.

During the launch, NBA athletes will use their Instagram handles to uplift and support Black women who have an impact across sport, society, and culture:

In addition, Converse, Jordan, and Michael Jordan combine for a $140 million investment in addressing racial inequality, we’re investing $500,000 in Black Girl Ventures. Black Girl Ventures provides Black and brown woman-identifying founders with access to the community, capital, and capacity building to support entrepreneurship. Black Girl Ventures will be further supported by partnering to create a pitch competition to provide more opportunities for Black and brown woman-identifying founders to have access to capital.
