The NBA All-Star Weekend played an important part in highlighting HBCUs while also providing over $3 million in funding. Before the game tipped off HBCU students representing the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and United Negro College Fund interviewed and got one-on-one time with Allstars through a Twitter stop.

Through virtual screens, students were able to speak with Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, Nikola Vucevic, Domantas Sabonis, Julius Randle, Donovan Mitchell, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Rudy Gobert, Rudy Gobert, Zach LaVine, Paul George, Mike Conley and Bradley Beal. Students Morehouse College, Saint Augustine’s University, Morgan State University, Virginia State University, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University and North Carolina A&T State University, among others, were able to speak with the hoop stars.
