For the longest period of time, fans believed that there was some tension between rappers, Cardi B and Saweetie. Just last month Cardi B released her single, “Up” when fans noticed she had a catchphrase in her song that Saweetie is known for using. Many wondered why Cardi didn’t add the “Tap In” rapper on the song to say the catchphrase “I know that’s right” herself, but Cardi explained that it just slipped her mind due to her rushing the single’s release.

Although Cardi took the time to address how it simply slipped her mind, some fans still speculated that there could be some tension between the two as they expect the rappers to be closer considering both women are in a relationship with two members of the Atlanta rap group, The Migos.

In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Saweetie set the record straight on the status of her and Cardi’s relationship.

“Yeah, our teams have definitely been talking. I think we’re just kinda waiting for that right record,”Saweetie states. “I think the media just likes to take things out of context. I’m loving how women artists are starting to realize that sometimes it’s the media that creates something that’s not there. I think it just shows mature and it shows growth amongst me and my peers to not be affected by what the media says.”

Last month, Cardi B’s sister tried to clear up the beef rumors between the two telling everyone that Saweetie and Cardi’s team talked about a project in the works. So it’s great to hear, Saweetie comes back and confirms the collaboration.
