Many families in America are suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the $1400 stimulus checks aka the “stimmys” offer some sort of relief to those out of work and unable to adequately provide for their families. Today, a man in Indianapolis has been taken into custody after he took the lives of four people after his child’s mother refused to give him half of her stimulus check.

25-year-old Malik Halfacre demanded that his girlfriend give him half of her $1400, but Jeanettrius Moore refused. In turn, Halfacre shot and killed Moore’s 44-year-old mother, her 35-year-old cousin, her 23-year-old brother and even her 7-year-old daughter before being taken into custody following a 4-hour stand off with SWAT; almost 24 hours following the quadruple homicide.

Moore’s cousin, Wendy Johnson, recalled the entire incident.

“He shot Daquan first. He shot Anthony. He turned around, and he shot my Auntie Tomeeka. My Auntie Tomeeka said, ‘Malik!’ and he shot her again. He came back and shot Daquan for the second time and somewhere between little baby Eve got hit somewhere and she was screaming, she was screaming.”

“He went back in the house, and that’s when he shot Anthony again when he was coming down the steps. When he went in the house, that was Jeanettrius’ cue to run for her life, and that’s what she did. Ran for her life in traffic across New York Street and knocking on everyone’s doors.”

Moore managed to escape death by hiding near a neighbor’s home until police arrived. Halfacre fled the scene with he and Moore’s six-month-old child, which he eventually left unharmed. Halfacre engaged in a stand off with SWAT officers in a nearby attic until he was overtaken by tear gas from officers.
