Our Generation Music (OGM) was founded by two hard working, humble hispanic kids from LA Mirada, California. Ivan Parra and Miguel Sarabia (Mikey) grew up playing basketball and met during a PE Class in High School. Their shared interests and humble beginnings would soon develop into something much greater. In 2014, Mikey and Ivan decided to launch OGM, but not as the page we know it as today. It kicked-off as a clothing brand that would eventually nudge them towards working on what they love most, which was rap. Most would lean towards creating music, but instead they took a different route and decided to build a music blog. Fast forward three years later to 2017, and they were able to grow their first instagram account to 376k loyal followers.
Then suddenly, all of this momentum took a split when they found out that their instagram account had been deleted. All of their loyal followers, hard work, and overall presence was gone. Due to Miguel and Ivan’s devotion to growing their page again, they were not only able to attract the followers they originally had, but they even surpassed the follower count on their previous page. In fact, OGM got so popular that a wide variety of the largest rappers are following the OGM page. Their new page is currently standing at 505k followers as of April 2021.
It is evident to see that there is no doubt that Our Generation Music will continue to expand. They are now creating their own original content with their new host, Hakeem Rowe. Hakeem is no stranger to staying ahead of the curve with cultural trends and updates. He used to work with No Jumper, which is one of the largest hip-hop podcasts in the world. You can find Hakeem hosting OGM’s interviews, vlogs, and behind the scenes footage at the hottest parties and events.
If you are looking to stay ahead with hip hop news, music, and cultural updates make sure to follow OGM on all platforms, you will not regret it.
