The closing arguments in the Derek Chauvin trial are underway and the NBA is preparing for the verdict to arrive. ESPN reports the league was instructed teams to make plans of potential postponement.
The belief is possible protests, civil runrest and team reactions, along with a night or two of games could be postponed.
Chauvin is facing second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in Floyd’s death after he held his knee on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes in May 2020.

Last week after the shooting of unarmed Black man, Daunte Wright, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Brooklyn Nets postponed a game the two were planned to play in. The Wolves are currently on the road.
