Ahmad Jordan is one of the most popular photographers in the Dallas Metroplex. His real name is Ahmad Jordan aka PitchaMane, whose only aim is to become one of the most successful leading photographer of the world.
Speaking about his startup Jordan says that he always wanted to become a fashion model. He bought his camera for the first time on June 6th, 2016; however, he didn’t know how to use it properly. The only thing that he knew about the camera was “clicking a button” and that’s it. The journey from becoming a casual photographer to a professional photographer was never easy. It was a time when knowing nothing about photography led him to almost leave his passion. He threw his camera away for not knowing how to operate it.
Here are some tips from Ahmad Jordan to help out the newbies in this profession .
Work, work, work
For me, hard work is the key. Becoming a photographer usually means freelancing. It’s lucky to be able to arrange your own photo shoot, so get creative! Initially, I took photos every day and edited the photos that night. I have worked in this way for many years, and I think it is very helpful for my progress. I have tried different lights, different compositions, and different environments, hoping to find my own style. I think we should not stick to the status quo-even if you are currently successful, you must continue to think about how to grow and progress. So my suggestion is: as long as you have free time, arrange some photography!
Do what you want to do
I don’t know if there is a “trick” to becoming a successful photographer. For me, my trick is to always do what I want to do. I shoot a wide range of subjects-some are natural, some are weird; in the studio or outdoors; portraits, fashion, beauty, etc.-but these are what I love! And I’m never limited to one thing. I need to try new things. I follow my current ideas to practice. Customers will want something, maybe my career has a destiny, but I don’t think about it anymore. One suggestion I want to make is: the most important thing is to make yourself happy! Don’t take pictures for others, just for yourself is enough.
Know when to relax
Be able to stop and rest, recharge yourself, search for or rediscover your ideals. As a photographer , managing your own work is very important and not easy.
Try new things
Because in this way you can understand yourself and make progress. Try new lighting, different compositions, and different environments. Get out of your comfort zone and see what happens. It may be a complete disaster, or there may be surprises! Only if you try it will you know. Learn the basics, and then try. Take it slowly step by step. Always remind yourself that you can fail, and you must allow yourself to fail.
