Neecy J is a music artist from the DMV area in Washington, D.C. Her single, “Big Tipper,” has been hitting the scene hard as it peaks at 172 on the DRT Global Charts and 47 on the DRT Global Independent Charts.
Her passion and love for music started when she was a kid when she wrote songs. Eventually, she decided to pursue this dream and managed to gain some notable achievements.
The success of her first song inspired her to work on a new EP titled “Supa Natural” which she hopes to do well in numbers and be the stepping stone to getting a record deal that could jumpstart her career to new heights.
And throughout her career, she has learned significant lessons that have helped her further her journey in the music industry.
Finding The Right People
One of the lessons that Neecy J has learned and found useful in her career is that it’s important to find the ideal people to work with.
Neecy J shared that she has an amazing team supporting her by getting the job done, has her best interest in mind, and believes in her craft which makes her more capable to deal with challenges in her career.
But finding the right ones isn’t as easy it seems, especially if the music industry is filled with critics and naysayers.
“I’ve learned that you can’t take people at face value. That one has to prove their loyalty and show what they can do before you can trust people in this game,” she said.
So before Neecy J works with or brings anyone into her team, they have to do certain things to prove their loyalty and dedication.
Furthering Her Career
Releasing a successful EP and landing a record deal isn’t the goal that Neecy J has in mind. Her key goals as an artist are to elevate her career to a point where she becomes well-known yet unique from the others in the industry.
“I plan to be at the top of my career. To have my music spinning at every club and radio station. To have people know exactly who Neecy J is,” she said.
She added that her life experiences have helped her understand that life will throw all types of trials and tribulations. But it’s up to her to persevere with mental toughness.
“Life is what you make it, and only I can stop myself from being great,” she said.
