Comedy Central has announced Tha God’s Honest Truth With Lenard “Charlamagne” McKelvey, a new weekly late-night show. Set for a September 17, Charlamagne’s new series is created from MTV Entertainment Studios and is executive produced by Charlamagne and Stephen Colbert.
The new series will mark Colbert’s return to Comedy Central for the first time in seven years. The show will bring on Rachel Edwards of MTV Wild ‘N Out as Showrunner.
The half-hour late-night series will bring Charlamagne’s culturally fluent take on social issues and will have deep dives, sketches, and social experiments that will tackle the most talked topics in politics and culture. The series is comedic, unfiltered, and unapologetically Black. The series is set to film in New York City.
