Milwaukee Bucks franchise player Giannis Antetokounmpo has completed both challenges assigned to him by the late Kobe Bryant. In 2017, fresh off retirement, Bryant tweet out a few challenges to the next generation of NBA superstars. Antetokoumpo was fresh off making his first NBA All-Star team. Bryant saw greatness in him so he challenged Antetokoumpo to win the NBA MVP Award.
Antetokounmpo would end up winning the NBA MVP award the following season in 2019. He won it again for good measure in 2020.
After Antetokounmpo won his first MVP, Bryant went to the next step. He challenges Antetokounmpo to win a championship.
Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, Antetokounmpo won his first championship just two years later after the Bryant tweet. Greatness recognizes greatness. And just for good measures, Antetokounmpo put up 50 points and was an amazing 17-19 at the free-throw line to close out the series in 6 games. Bryant would’ve been proud to see the challenge answered and accomplished.
