After several unconfirmed announcements, the City Council of Long Beach, New York, a coastal town in Nassau County, Long Island, has announced the street naming ceremony for one of its native sons; Daniel “MF DOOM” Dumille this upcoming Saturday (July 31).

The City Council approved the dedication on July 6th after a successful petition from former KMD dancer Jason “J-Quest the Boogieman” Massey, who launched the KMD – MF DOOM Way Committee.

KMD – MF DOOM Way” will run on East Hudson Street, between Long Beach Boulevard and Riverside Boulevard, where DOOM and his brother Dingilizwe “DJ Subroc” Dumile spent their formative years. DOOM’s younger sibling Subroc was killed in an auto accident in Long Island in 1993.

DOOM passed away on October 31, 2020, but the public didn’t learn about his death until December. Dumille was 49 years old.
