If the rapper didn’t believe cancel culture was real before … he may want to keep an eye open this time. North Carolina rapper, DaBaby has been facing a lot of backlash, to say the least, after comments he made during his set at Rolling Loud Miami, a few days ago.

The rapper told his live audience to put their cell phone lighters in the air if they didn’t have HIV/AIDS or “any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks.” The rapper then suggested that his male fans put their cell phone lighters up if they aren’t “sucking d*ck in the parking lot.”

While DaBaby has expressed that his intention wasn’t to slander anyone, many are still not pleased with the rapper’s choice of words and found it to be insensitive, ignorant, and outright disrespectful.

Last year, Dua Lipa invited DaBaby to hop on the remix of her single “Levitating” but fans of the English singer demand for DaBaby to be removed from the remix. Dua Lipa caught wind of the backlash and decided to speak out. “Im surprised and horrified at DaBaby’s comments. I really don’t recognise this as the person I worked with. I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGBTQ community,” she penned on Instagram. “We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS.”

In the midst of the heat, Victoria Monét shot her shot at the opportunity. The singer let it be known that if DaBaby will be replaced on the remix, she wants first dibs. “If she would like to replace DaBaby’s verse on levitating I’m totally available,” she penned on Twitter. Shortly after her comment, fans began to suggest Victoria Monét or Megan Thee Stallion on the remix.

Do you think Dua Lipa will proceed with removing DaBaby from the remix?
