Simone Biles took to social media to express her gratitude for the outpour of support she’s received since withdrawing from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Everyone from Michael Phelps to Ronda Rousey and Michelle Obama showed love to the young gymnast.
Biles wrote, “the outpouring love & support I’ve received has made me realize I’m more than my accomplishments and gymnastics which I never truly believed before.”
As previously reported, Simone Biles pulled out of the Olympics citing her mental health.
USA Gymnastics praised her for the moves explaining, “Her courage shows, yet again, why she is a role model for so many.”
Biles admitted that she felt like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders.
“It wasn’t an easy day or my best but I got through it,” Biles wrote Monday in an Instagram post. “I truly do feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders at times.”
“I know I brush it off and make it seem like pressure doesn’t affect me but damn sometimes it’s hard hahaha! The Olympics is no joke!”
Chiles, Suni Lee and Grace McCallum will continue on with the competition.
