LiAngelo Ball’s 16 points included finishing 5-of-8 from the 3-point line and he also grabbed two rebounds and dished out two assists in 16 minutes.

Despite being absent from the game of basketball and facing tough critics, Gelo said he’s comfortable playing.

“I don’t get too caught up in people saying what I got to do.” Gelo said in his post-game interview, “I just go out there and play the game. I love the game and I just play the right way.”

Many people thought Ball, the high school state champion and former UCLA recruit, lost his opportunity to play in the NBA after his China theft incident in 2017.

He dropped out of UCLA and went to play in the Junior Basketball Association formed by his pops LaVar. Ball absolutely stood out, by putting up video game numbers. In his first game in the league, Gelo dropped 53 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Even with putting up crazy stats, folks still thought LiAngelo Ball couldn’t play. Nearly everybody doubted him. Everybody, except for his dad, LaVar, who came to the game wearing a “I Told You So” Big Baller Brand hat.
