While she may be celebrating personal successes, superstar Lizzo hasn’t stopped thinking about the less fortunate people suffering throughout the world, specifically the victims of a 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti last week and the people who remain in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover of the country’s capitol.

Lizzo took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video that was interspersed with tragic images of human suffering, not just in Afghanistan and Haiti, but Greece and Turkey as well. She captioned it with the following:

“The internet has brought the world together, for better and for worse. Right now there are people in peril. If I can help bring awareness to these issues it’s the least I can do. How to help:

She ended the post with a series of heart emojis.

This is not the “Rumors” singer first charitable endeavor. Alongside a variety of charity outreach programs in the United States, she also volunteered at a food bank in Australia during their devastating fires in 2020 when she was on tour there.

As of now, over 2,200 people are confirmed dead in the Haiti earthquake with thousands more unaccounted for.
