The two have been battling for the spot since the beginning of camp. Back in May, the Patriots selected Mac Jones with the 15th overall pick out of Alabama. Cam played two offensive series’ with the starting unit in his final preseason game with the Pats this past Sunday.

He has missed three total practices after a “misunderstanding” of the NFL’s COVID-19 protocol. According to the Patriots, the veteran quarterback conducted tests away from NFL facilities. The incident caused him to missed multiple days of joint practice with the Giants.
