“Life is like a beautiful melody, only the lyrics are messed up.”
This quote is often attributed to popular Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, writer of classics like The Little Mermaidand The Emperor’s New Clothes, which have been adapted to global appeal. The kind of optimistic cynicism Hans Christian Andersen expressed spoke strongly to Gian Pietro Beltrando.
Even as a young man in the rustic small town of Savigliano in Northern Italy, the nine-to-five life of being tied down by corporate responsibilities never really appealed to Gian. As soon as he was able, Gian traveled to the picturesque comune of nearby Piasco to dictate his own melody and write the lyrics of his own life.
Today at 25 years-old, Gian is a highly-successful entrepreneur on the dawn of launching his own music career. Balancing passion with the management of his own full-time business, Gian now travels around the Piasco armed with his favorite selection of instruments and his laptop (used for both music and business).
Gian uses the melody of his journey so far, as well as the romantic beauty he finds in his travels around Italy, as a constant inspiration for his songwriting. Beyond this, Gian’s experiences as a Gen-Z in Italy exposed him to a wide variety of styles that he uses today.
Gian Pietro Beltrando blends Italian pop and pop-rock with global contemporary music that he faced growing up. Citing inspirations from artists ranging from Coldplay to K-Pop, Gian admits he is very much a product of his time. In addition to the fluidity and diversity of his music, what makes Gian unique is his appreciation and use for more traditional Italian music.
Like a modern orchestra, Gian incorporates these distinct and seemingly-discordant elements with his varied life experiences into a style that is truly his own.
After years of experience performing and recording during his travels around Piedmont, Italy, Gian now plans to release his first full album online on major streaming sites.
