27-year-old Victoria Farish Weiss was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule 1 drug. In South Carolina, possession of marijuana is still illegal.

On September 23, an investigation was launched after it was reported that a student picked a bag of marijuana edibles out of a reward box. “Detectives confirmed during interviews that Weiss took the pack of edibles from the student and told him to pick something else from the box,” said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon.

When the student went to pick another prize, it was another bag of edibles. Authorities have confirmed that none of the students consumed any of the edibles. Packaging of today’s marijuana edibles resembles that of regular candy and sweets with a similar 420-inspired name.
