According to the 21-year-old Belgian rapper, in composing his songs, he is guided by his goal of creating timeless music. Growing up listening to legendary artists, among them Tupac Shakur and Eminem, Shah aims to give his audience impactful music. Like their songs changed his life through his music, he wants to empower, encourage and share his story with others.

Born and raised in Antwerp, Sha Shah Mohammadi, popularly known by his stage name Shah developed an interest in music from a young age. He started exploring his passion leading him to find hip-hop music, and he immediately decided to make it his career. However, it was not so easy for the incredible rapper. He was still in school, and he didn’t have money to support his dream.

Juggling between studies and following his passion for music, Shah didn’t have much time on his hands to fully focus on his career, but he didn’t give up. He chose to first concentrate on his education, and after he completed school, he started his journey in the music industry, releasing his first single, “Rather Alone .” His other singles include “Zakeen Leg” and “Drank Pillen & Ballonmen,” which has gained over 700K streams on Spotify.

In just a span of ten months, Shah has cemented his spot in the global music scene, with his songs gaining more than one million views across various platforms. Looking back to when he joined the industry, he says his determination and discipline have made the journey much easier. 

He is a firm believer that discipline is the number one key to success; Shah tries his best to maintain discipline in his life. This has enabled him to remain focused on his goals and tackle any obstacles. He recalls making a promise to start his singing career in his twenties, something that he has now achieved. He has released more than five tracks in one year.

Asked about the future, the Belgian rapper says his journey in the music industry is just getting started. In the coming years, he aspires to release more uplifting music, attend more shows, and continue to positively impact lives. He says by the time he is 25 years he aims to have his music topping multiple music charts in the whole of Belgium/Netherlands and across the globe.

He encourages others in the industry not to give up and believe in their work and talent. To make your dreams a reality, you must be ready and willing to work hard, says Shah. He notes that while there are obstacles and the music scene is highly competitive, the only way to penetrate the industry is by choosing not to give up. Failing at one thing doesn’t mean you can’t try again.
