A few years ago, getting into the entertainment industry and making a name for yourself was an uphill task for many. If you were a total unknown, without an endless stream of money and an influential connection in that space, getting a deal with a notable record label would take years. However, with advancements in modern technology, that has changed. Today, well-designed social media campaigns can open doors no money ever could and get you an audience of millions from all over the world. Up-and-coming producer and musician Romain Ferri is a good example of that.

At just 21 years old, Romain is an award-winning musician and music producer boasting nearly 600K followers on his SoundCloud account. Although Romain’s love for music developed at a young age, he gave little thought to turning it into a career. That changed in 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Surrounded by pain and sadness in all directions, he decided to do his part to make life easier. That’s when he started pursuing music earnestly.

Romain started making a name for himself on social media. Though he knew about Instagram and Facebook, he hadn’t yet discovered their potential. Then, he discovered Twitter. Romain says, “Twitter worked amazingly well. I listened to people who worked in marketing. They told me it’s a social site where you’ve got to follow people and get followed back. So I just started following everyone, thousands of random people, most of them DJs but also companies because, one day, I was going to be doing business with those companies.”

Gradually, Romain’s audience grew bigger. The people he followed had followers who had followers who started following him back on Twitter. The more content he posted, the more his numbers grew. Today, he has an enviable fanbase on almost every social media platform.

On Instagram, for instance, he boasts a loyal following of close to 400K. He also has a YouTube channel that is booming, with an audience of 154K subscribers. When he released his debut track, “The Incertitudes of Life,” in late 2020, his followers showed a lot of love and flocked to his SoundCloud channel. Within three months, the track attracted 300K followers on SoundCloud.

Romain is also well known for his remixes. In fact, some of his best works are remixes of famous songs by notable artists. Some of those include remixes for Drake, The Weeknd, Kyo, and Selena Gomez’s tracks, among others. Last year, Romain received his first-ever music award. He was the recipient of the Remix Awards for 2021 and the New Artist of the Year Award from the RapFMI.

As a performer and producer, quality is the hallmark of Romain’s work. Besides having a great beat and catchy lyrics, he also ensures his songs have depth, something few rap artists bother about. He also produces and performs his pieces on his own but has recently started collaborating with some of his biggest musical influences.

Romain says he has upcoming projects with several big names that he’ll be unveiling soon, including a national tour with one of the biggest rap artists of our time. For now, his fans can listen to his latest track, “Solo Ride.” It is available on all music streaming platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and Deezer. Fans can also connect and follow him on social media for project release dates and more.
