Originally from Monrovia, Liberia, one of the most popular Atlanta based barbers is Mellyp. The celebrity barber has a long list of famous clients including athletes like Jalen Suggs, Tre Jones, Tyus Jones, Deangelo Russell, Chet Holmgren, Jaylen Nowell and Jarred Vanderbilt while also cutting up well known musical acts like King Louie, Dusty Locane, and even T.I.
Mellyp starting cutting hair in the summer of 2014 when he graduated from Molers Barber School. As he began to get better at his craft, Mellyp’s clientele base grew enough to open his own business. He founded Meleyen’s Sports Barbershop located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, a sports themed spot to get a clean cut.
Among Mellyp’s impressive list of clientele, one client that he has grown closest to is Jalen Suggs. “I met Jalen Suggs at my establishment the morning before he played at the target center against Lebron James”, said Mellyp. After dming each other, Mellyp gave Suggs and cut and the rest was history. It’s not uncommon for Mellyp’s relationships to form over social media.
As he expands and builds his clientele base even more, Mellyp is focused on working with even more Athletes and celebrities and wants to continue to grow his brand across the country.
