Led by the album’s lead single, “Juvenile,” Meize’s homage piece is an 11-song collection that discusses his return to the world following a recent release from federal prison, a new perspective on life, family, hustling, and more without depriving his original fanbase with street tales that held them over during his time out. Meize’s album concept stems from the newfound energy for music he discovered after his release from prison, similar to 2Pac in 1995 after signing with Death Row while incarcerated in Clinton Correctional Facility in New York, which he was released on 1.4 million bail shortly after, and began making 1996’s All Eyez On Me.

“The energy he brought coming out of prison, it’s kind of the same energy I feel, and I still feel it,” said Meize in a recent interview. “It’s not something that was just at the moment, nuh-uh. And, that’s why I did it, because I feel it how long he felt it, if you get what I’m trying to say. So, it was like, “Yeah, I got to do this,” to let him know how I’m coming from here and now on, in the way that I’m going. And, pay attention, I’m saying, the way that I’m going. The way that Tupac went was, he had street songs but also he had the songs that lead the Black community to a whole different way, and that’s what I’m on.”

And with “Juvenile,” other album’s standout songs include “Money Tears,” “Kierra,” and “I Ain’t Mad At Cha,” which samples the piano-driven production to the 2Pac classic. Before the album, Gunna Meize rose to fame with street hits “After The Rain,” “Many Men,” and “Gun Ya Down,” and collaborations with fellow Texas stars Hotboy Wes and Trapboy Freddy.

Eye-opening. Mature. Refreshing. All Eyez On Meize is the perfect origin point for newfound fans interested in hopping on the artist’s bandwagon as he converts a new following with intriguing storytelling, catchy hooks, signature wordplay, and magnetic appeal from beginning to end. Since his release from prison, Gunna Meize has been drawing attention with must-see content like his slick-talking “4Da Culture Performance.”
