Popular Los Angeles recording artist 03 Greedo, 35, will be released from the Texas state prison system this week. News broke of The Wolf of Grape Street creator’s forthcoming release on Sunday (Jan. 8) via social media, with several popular media outlets confirming the news with a photo of the artist’s scheduled prison release sheet.

Greedo, real name Jason Jackson, will be released following serving four years of a 20-year sentence for possession of more than 400 grams of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of firearm charges he pled guilty to in April 2018. Rumors of Greedo’s release have been circling social media since early 2021. Details surrounding the popular artist’s release are unknown at press time.

The Watts, California native’s buzz began in 2016 with his Purple Summer mixtape series and hit its peak in 2018 with his mainstream breakthrough album, The Wolf of Grape Street. Greedo’s catalog includes collaborations with a widely diverse roster of music superstars like Carnage, Lil Uzi Vert, Wiz Khalifa, Travis Barker, and more.

Ahead of incarceration, Greedo recorded nonstop, which has kept the artist’s unwavering fanbase fed over these last four years. Since imprisonment, Greedo has released six new projects. He released his latest single, “Drop Down,” featuring KenTheMan, in August 2022.

Greedo hasn’t personally spoken on the news of his forthcoming release from the Texas state prison system yet. He is currently an inmate at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Thomas R. Havins Unit in Brownwood, Texas.

On paper, Greedo is reportedly scheduled to be released on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
