As always, when Beyonce shows up, she shows out. While she had several outfit changes throughout the evening, the finale was the cherry on top, stepping out in an all red, unforgettable ensemble created by Ukraine’s Ivan Frolov. According to the designer, he states the outfit “was created in the brand’s production in Kyiv, Ukraine, during war and massive blackouts.”

But of course, when you’re someone of that stature, there will always be haters. Due to the country’s anti-LGBTQ+ laws, her performance was met with much backlash from the LGBTQ+ community who felt she “sold out” – given she performed in an area with “homophonic dictatorship.”

Beyoncé’s dad Matthew Knowles wasted no time in coming to defend his daughter, shooting down any possibilities of the accusation.

He tells TMZ that the Renaissance recording artist actually brought together a very diverse crowd with her breath-taking performance, with the ability to bring people from all different walks of life together (as she always does).

He proceeds to state that those who were not physically at the show may not understand, as her powerful set was intended to give respect to the country. Matthew Knowles states Beyoncé always stands for inclusiveness, and the overarching theme during the event was love. He also notes that she would never do anything that would maliciously harm anyone.

He says people who weren’t at the show might not understand — adding she gave respect and got respect back from the country, calling it an amazing moment.

On a positive note, Matthew teases that Beyoncé is in works of planning a tour… and we’ll have to stay tuned for the announcement to come.

TMZ also spoke with Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mom, who stated her daughter was nervous for this Dubai show – her first big performance in several years.
