For years, D1C3 has released music that has gone under the radar until the release of his 2019 album White Noise. After the album’s nomination for Best Rap Album, D1C3 solidified his mark on the independent music scene; becoming a force to be reckoned with and snatching a spot as not only one of the biggest up and coming artists on Long Island, but as one of the best up and coming hip hop artists on Long Island. If there is a chart, scale or level on Long Island hip hop that doesn’t include D1C3, we have to ask ourselves “how much credibility does it hold?”

After collaborating and lyrically standing toe to toe with multiple hip hop elites, releasing an award-nominated album and solidifying his presence among fans and haters alike; we find ourselves wondering why we haven’t heard about him sooner, and why people keep comparing him to one of hip hop’s greatest recording artists of all time.

Unfazed by comparisons, D1C3 has made it very clear that skill goes far deeper than who a persons voice is compared to. Fortunately for D1C3, the more we listen, the more we understand why skill supersedes comparisons. If there’s something that cannot be ignored, it’s talent. Artists have faced these obstacles for many years, but D1C3 powers through them by sharing his unique story, aggressively showing his determination, and holding no punches while he fights to gain his own place in hip hop.

If there is one thing D1C3 has taught us about his journey in music so far; it’s that it can only hold the door closed on him for so long before he finally knocks it down.
