It’s not often that records break through the fray of countless single releases coming from their hometowns, but P. $mith’s “Flawda Wada” has done just that. The track was released at the close of 2022, still has legs across DSP’s and is just as infectious as some of the MCs more recent releases (“No Risk” is available everywhere now).
$mith’s sound is just as versatile as it is familiar, recalling some of Hip-Hop’s most relevant stars while effortlessly flowing over a throwback electronic groove that sounds right out of a episode of Miami Vice. A brief listen to P. $mith’s catalog and his consistency shines through, with several made for radio cuts and infectious features. It’s safe to say the next wave of Florida MCs are off to a good start.
