Caroline Abero, Sr. Director of Women’s Footwear and Apparel at Nike, led the design for this bold collection. Abero and her team aimed to capture Nike’s signature attitude—bold, fearless, and irreverent. The Electric Pack features a unique blend of Ostrich print, originally introduced by legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield on the Air Safari in 1987, and Total Orange, a vibrant performance color.

“We wanted to take something you wouldn’t think about in the context of performance — the Safari pattern — and create an artifact that signaled this new era of sport,” says Abero. “We’re bringing sport and culture together on the playing field and creating a new look of sport for the next generation.”

The Ostrich print’s story is as distinctive as its design. In the ’80s, Hatfield encountered a luxurious ostrich-print couch in New York City’s SoHo. Inspired by its organic, textured look, Hatfield sought to merge this non-athletic aesthetic with performance footwear, creating a groundbreaking fusion of high fashion and athletic function.

The Electric Pack will be available across 55 select performance models on nike.com, showcasing a dynamic intersection of Nike’s athletic innovation and bold design.
