[SEE IT] Jim Jones Reveals He’s Finally Sober After 30 Years

Feel-good stories are far these days, but Jim Jones just shared a personal revelation about his journey to sobriety. The “We Fly High” rapper revealed that he recently experienced being clean for the first time in over three decades. Known for his love of marijuana, the Dipset rapper decided to abstain during a trip to Tokyo, and the experience had a noticeable effect on him physically and mentally.

In what began as a social media post, Jones explained his brief sobriety’s positive impact on his energy levels. “I been around here bouncing like a kid like I’m in high school,” he said in the video. “I definitely got that high school feeling.”

Get this, Jones continued, describing how he felt energetic enough to dance for nearly an hour at a club, something he hadn’t done in a while. “My body ain’t feel this pure in a minute. I was in the club dancing last night for like 45 minutes straight, sweating.”

With what is a hot-button topic in the realm of cannabis, and notwithstanding the noticeable benefits, Jones was quick to clarify that he has no intention of giving up marijuana permanently. “I’m addicted lol,” he admitted, adding, “But at least I know when it’s time for business I’m disciplined to stop cold turkey for what’s important.”

Here’s what’s interesting: the rapper’s sobriety experience came during his recent trip to Tokyo, where he met with Kanye West, who was working on his upcoming album, BULLY. While in Japan, Jones also shot a video for his latest single, “That Sh!t Still in Harlem,” which features a cameo from Kanye, who wears a Diplomats pendant in the visual. The video captures Jones, West, and their crew exploring the city.
