Captain America: Brave New World took over the box office, bringing in $88.5 million. It is expected to push across $100 million, including Presidents Day.
The film is currently the biggest opening of the year and the fourth-best Presidents Day opening of all time. The other three are also Marvel films: 2018’s “Black Panther” ($242 million), 2016’s “Deadpool” ($152 million), and 2023’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” ($120 million).
Abroad, the film pulled in an additional $92.4 million for a global total of $192.4 million.
