SOURCE SPORTS: Steph Curry Wins All-Star MVP in The Bay

Steph Curry capped off a storybook weekend by winning the Kobe Bryant MVP Trophy on his home floor, leading his squad to victory in the All-Star Game. The Golden State Warriors icon delivered a vintage performance with 20 points, 10 rebounds, six three-pointers, and countless unforgettable moments at Chase Center.

From a one-legged running three-pointer to a resounding 39-foot splash that sent the crowd into a frenzy, Curry put on a show in front of Bay Area fans. His signature launch-and-turn celebration sealed the victory, making him the seventh player in the last 50 years to win All-Star MVP as the host city’s representative.

“The hosting experience was unbelievable,” Curry said. “This is an honor and a blessing to share this beautiful Bay Area … and the basketball culture and history that’s been here.”

Curry’s journey to the title wouldn’t have been complete without fellow Bay Area legend Damian Lillard, who nailed a clutch semifinal shot to send their squad to the championship.

“Some of the stories write themselves,” Curry said. “Dame is from Oakland … He is Oakland. Every time he comes back here, he wants to put on a show.”

Off the court, the two stars made an impact beyond basketball. Lillard returned to Oakland to support college accessibility programs, while Curry and his wife, Ayesha, continued their commitment to helping underprivileged schools.

“It was a 10 out of 10 experience,” Curry said. “The impact that the game being here has had on both cities … it was awesome from start to finish.”
