New York native Onijah Robinson has mysteriously gone missing in Dubai after a bizarre international ordeal that began with an online relationship turned sour.
Robinson, 33, initially traveled to Pakistan on October 11, 2024, after developing a virtual relationship with 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon. She had hoped to marry him, but upon meeting her in person, Memon rejected her outright. Despite his repeated pleas for her to leave, Robinson refused, even camping outside his Karachi residence for nearly 30 hours. Memon’s family ultimately fled their home in the middle of the night to escape her persistence.
Her troubles escalated when her tourist visa expired in November, leaving her stranded in Karachi. She demanded that the government pay her $5,000 per week and claimed she needed $100,000 to “help rebuild Karachi.” Authorities eventually placed her in a psychiatric ward at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for evaluation before releasing her.
