Diddy’s Legal Team Moves to Dismiss Charge, Citing Racial Bias

Diddy's legal team is asking for his release. In a court-submitted letter, Diddy's team pens, "This letter will walk the Court through a series of actions taken by Mr. Combs over the past six months that prove that he is not a risk of flight or a danger to anyone in the community."

Attorneys for Sean Combs have filed a motion to dismiss Count Three of the Superseding Indictment in United States v. Sean Combs, arguing that he is being unfairly targeted due to his race. The filing states that “no white person has ever been the target of a remotely similar prosecution” under the Mann Act, also known as the White-Slave Traffic Act.

The motion asserts that Combs is being singled out as a powerful Black man for actions that have not led to similar charges against others. His legal team describes the case as “unprecedented” and claims there has never been a RICO prosecution of this nature. The filing further argues that the government has “concocted a criminal case” largely based on allegations that Combs and his longtime partners occasionally hired male escorts, a scenario they say has never resulted in prosecution for a white defendant.

Combs’ attorneys also accuse the government of racial bias and media manipulation, alleging efforts to prejudice the jury pool through pretrial publicity and leaks that play into harmful stereotypes. They claim the case is part of a broader pattern of racial disparity in the justice system and demand the dismissal of Count Three.
